Default Overheating Auto Tranny in 83' 944

The tunnel is smoking hot when running on the freeway. When I turned the AC on it seemed to cool it down? The radiator fan was coming on and moving the gauge down as expected but the tranny just kept getting hotter. The mileage is 189K but the tranny that is in the car has just 77K. Help!

Errr the transaxle is in the back of the car. Sounds like you have a bad catalytic converter.

Can you recommend a replacement supplier for the cat?
