Hello Everyone,

I have recently traded in my 04 BMW 530i for a 06 911 (C2). I have to say i have never been more excited about driving in my life. I have purchased my car from the Porsche dealer:
Guards red06 911 (C2) 5000km. Dynamic suspension, Sport chrono package, 3M front end protection, paint protection, Factory warranty till Oct 2009 and extended till Oct 2011 (cant ask for a better deal).
I truly believe this was faith as i have been getting myself ready for cayman S when i entered the dealer and there She was. parked on the showroom floor without one scratch. I was sure the car was brand new but soon found out it was purchased by someone 1 year before and returned to dealer due to financial issues. The original owner has asked the dealer to buy the car back as he was in need of money and I have benefited from his loss.

I have few questions i am hoping someone can help with:
1. What products should i use to clean the exterior?
2. Is waxing the car myself a good idea? (i have never done this and don't want to damage the paint)
3.How will i ever get over the terrible feeling of parking my car between to other ****ty vehicles
4. How often should i change the oil? different dealers say different things
5. Should i use the dealer to do the oil changes? (the are asking $300)
6. What type of maintenance should i be prepared for in order to keep my new toy in top shape?

No probkem, also, I change my oil every 5K, use Mobile 1 oilat an independent Porsche mechanic and they charge me about $120

 

is that the 0W 40 fully syn.?

Welcome. I swear by (yes they are bloody good!) Autoglymm Cleaning Products.
I also Wax Wet Products which you spray on as you leather off. Very good between major polishing sessions.

The problem is I'm UK based try the brand "Turtle Wax".

I wouldn't put Turtle Wax on my Porsche. It may be a better product in the UK, but what we have in the stores here is ok to wax your Truck--personal preferance I guess. If you don't want to buy Zymol, buy the Meguilar Gold series wax.
