Default transmision sensor

Hello

I am considering purchasing a 2005 Turbo S with the X-51 package. The selling party does not have any service records. I hear that there is a recording sensor in the transmision that tracks the prior use of the car. Does anyone know what this tracks?

Hopefull new Porsche owner

Well the ECU tracks prior use of the car. You can look at type 1 and 2 over revs, number of hours the car has been used, etc. You need a PIWIS tester to read the information though. You can not however pull up it's maintenance history though, lol. If they tell you where the car has been serviced it's entire life, you can probably call that shop or dealer and get them to print you out their records of work performed.
