Default o2 sensor

I bought my '86 944n/a about 1 &amp;1/2 years ago from a porsche mech. who said it had a chip in it. LaterIdiscoverd the oxygen sensor wasn't connected at all . it seems to run good and get good gas milage. So is there any reasonit should be disconnectedand is there any reason to reconnect it . thanks, cj44<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">
