Default allison v17

If you love cars you should appreciate the technilogical advances made during WWII, like the allison v17 motor. This motor is amazing, and has a very unique compound supercharger system wich is drive directly off the crankshaft, since there is no clutch, and it has no lag what so ever, this engine driven charger is mounted right on the back of the motor. These motors put out 2,200+ hp, depending on the altitude. Can you imagine, the first allison v17 10 was out in 1931. These motors came in most american planes and all of the p-model aircraft. The p-38 lightning has two of these badboys. The motor weigh 1,600 pounds though. How would you cool this motor? 50.50 water-methanol injection, anti-detonation injection. This is a pointless post but this kind of technology back then is just inspirational on many levels, so I thought I would share.
