After the 356, the 1997 911 Turbo S is possibly the most sough after Porsche, by collectors, ever made. They ran about $115,000 when new, depending on options. One in impeccable condition today, with extremely low miles -- say 25,000 or fewer -- is worth about $115,000. You'll have to market the car to collectors to get that much. Don't expect to put it in your local newspaper and have people come around offering you that.

A car that old with that few miles is likely to have mechanical issues if you VCDS 15.7 want to use it as a regular automobile. Seals dry out from non-use. Because the engine is air cooled (424 HP!), at least there aren't hoses, a water pump, etc. to worry about.

What is a car with normal mileage, say around 60,000 or more miles, worth? Still a lot. If it's been properly maintained, it could be a daily driver right from purchase. The car is worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it, but I'd say a minimum of $60,000, and probably more for a car in great shape.

A comparison: I sold my 1996 normally-aspirated rear drive 911 GM Tech 2 coupe (the Turbo S is AWD) two years ago for $42,500, with 40,000 miles on the odometer.

Of course, if you're looking to buy one of these, do the same things you would with any other used car: complete maintenance history, Car Fax, Pre Purchase Inspection by a certified Porsche Mechanic, etc.
