Ok, I'm not sure I believe this but I've looked this car up on a few different car value sites and I'm seeing anywhere between $12-15,000. I can't believe thats right, I'd say in excellent or show condition it'd be worth about $50K but don't quote me on that. I have a very hard time believing $12-15K though. Anyone finding better quotes than me?

I've seen some pretty good ones with less than 100k miles for around $14K. I think $50K would be restored to near-new condition: this car isn't that good and more, stored for so long and all one does not know exactly what one is getting. I think this is a fair range.

You wont ever get that kind of money out of a perfectly restored older 911. Lee is correct, in good running condition, mechanically sound, anywhere from 4-15k depending on the condition (nate at the shop just bought an 90k mile 71E for $4k in very good shape). With a car that hasn't run in 26 years, you are probably looking at being worth very little. More than likely it is going to need engine work to freshen it up, a bare minimum rebuild will run 7500 bucks.

I thought they would run more than that. I also wasn't taking into consideration that the car hasn't ran in 26 years. But I still wouldn't have thought that you could get an old 911 in good shape for that kind of money though.

At the end of the day (when it comes to older cars) it's worth what ever someone is prepared to pay for it!!!!
It sounds like it would be worth more if you broke it and sold the spares. [sm=smiley24.gif]

I agree with Lee, someone out there will buy the car and restore it, it just may take some time to find someone willing to do the work. At a minimum, you are looking at brake pads, rotors, calipers all around, master cylinder, all new fluids, tires, windshield wipers. Doesnt sound like alot, but that is 1500-2000k right there. I would rebuild the motor before trying to start it as well, so you figure about 10k to get the car running again. We have a customer who just pulled out his 67 911S soft top targa out of storage where it has been for 8 years. It is getting all new brakes, tires, and a basic engine rebuild. It was towed straight from the airport hanger where it was stored to here, where we tore it down.

Hey Lads, I agree with you also, it's a shame to see any old motor (especially Porsches) broken for parts. I was just saying, if all fyraxe is interested in is the money, it would most proberbly be worth more broken!
It could help keep another alive!

RE: 1966 911
hello again, I am going to restore it for sure.everyones input has been a big help the car is to clean not to restore only 3 door dings and one small dent in rear bumper. One of my biggest issues was on a repaint hurting the value . Like the old saying goes it is only original once. I am only going to repair what needs to be done on the interior and leave what I can original. I have found a very honest restoration shop to do the paint work. They told to me to research what it would do to the value first. where is the best place to buy parts from. Any more help or info is apprciated and thanks to who all that have responded
