hi,
my aunts 1999 porsche carrera has a problem

as it says in the subject...the convertible top is stuck down....when she tried to bring it up, the cover goes up, but not the actual top.
we already checked the fuses and that doesnt do anything


there is no clicking of any sort

any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Since the lid is moving as it should, my guess is there is a connector/linkage to the motor for the top that is broken on each side. I have done a lot of boxster tops, but it is a different system, I haven't ever done a 996 top failure. Probably just have to peak in with the lid up and see what you can see. Loren over at renntech.org might be able to help as well.
