Default 2000 911 - stereo code

My stereo is prompting for a password. I just bought the car used and the place where i bought it does not the code. Is there any easy way to get the serial number so I can call my porsche dealer. I would rather not have the dealer do this as they would probably charge an arm and a leg.

Did you not get an owners manual with the car? There is usually a small card in that package that has the code on it.

If not, then you can pull the radio out (will require the proper radio removal tools), and get the serial number off the side of the unit. Then you can go to your dealer and give them the serial code and they can give you the code (you will have to have proof of ownership of the car with you).
