Default 2006 C2S opt 381hp.. Need Help.....

I need some help. I’ve been researching the 911 for some time now and also have been considering purchasing one. So during my searching I’ve came up with to possible years 97 last year of the air cooled or a 2006 C2S w/optional 381hp and that’s where my question is. Is there a noticeable way of detecting the optional 381hp 2006 911?? I really can’t seem to find one. I’ve looked on Autotrader and Ebay and I can only find the 911 S’s that I know are 355hp but can’t really find a 381hp one. So that’s where my question has arisen from. So if there is any way of determining the optional 381hp visually then I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks again,
Cameron

Hi Cameron, I believe the S version is what your looking for. I have a 2007 Targa 4.. My car has 325 HP but the Targa 4S has 385 HP. The S version has the larger 3.8 litre engine. Mine has the standard 3.6 litre engine. So.. The Carerra S is what your looking for..

Good Luck

I was under the impression the C2S in that year was 355 HP for the US market, not 381 or 385. The very lastest S models being brought into the US are rated at 385 HP (they have direct injection rather than port injection that gave the 355 HP on the S). There were a lot of options and there might have been one to add an additional 26 HP to an S, although I have never seen that particularly number myself, but my experience is that those, on a Porsche, add HP at the top in the RPM band and don't make a difference in daily driving.

thanks guys for the replys. if you google a (2006 911 C2S Specs) there was an ontion (X51 Power Kit) that bumped the HP from the 355 S to 381 S. this was an option for the S model's only. i've found one on PCA website. i think there was only a hand full produced. anyways thanks again for the reply..

The X51 package is not really worth it in my opinion. You pay about $400 per HP if the dealer installs it: normally my experience is additional, verifiable by dyno, add-on HP costs about $85 to $200 per. I've driven several X51 packages of various models. They always are rated at around 25+ Hp but they don't feel like they add as much. Drive an '06 325 Hp 3.6 Carrera and 355 HP 3.8 Carrera S back to back and you will be very impressed with how big those extra 30 horses are. By comparison the X51 horses are very tiny horses indeed
