2007 911 GT3 RS
Topspeed has a new insight on the new 2007 911 GT3 RS. You can read about design and technical features, as well as look at a nice high-quality picture gallery.
"With effect from October, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, will be launching the new 911 GT3 RS on the European market. This purist variant of the GT3 is particularly suited for use on the track. The GT3 RS is distinguished by its performance capability and the unadulterated driving experience enjoyed with a racing car, but also meets all requirements for road-legal sports cars."

Yes, the GT3 is a very cool car. But frankly I am less impressed with the stats on top speed of the GT3 and the 'top end" Porsches than the day to day driveability of the base models. It seems every manufacturer has high-end models that set awesome stats anymore (the Aston Martin Vanquish will exceed 200 mph, etc.) but that does not really do much on the street, every day, driving to and from work, etc. , where the extra performance seems to be a pain to live with -- it is a nice car but I think too extreme for daily driving in traffic, etc. When I am not doing that, I have something much more extreme -- but those are toys, not cars.
I've had my 996 Carrera for a year now. It is not something I consider particularly powerful although it certainly can hold its own, but it handles as well as anything that is comfortable and easy to live with, and it is the best overall daily driver I have ever owned. I truly believe the base Porsches are the only practical "exotics" available.

I traded in my 1999 996 and loved it also.
