Default 993 purchase questions

I have been looking for a 993. I test drove a single owner low mileage car tonight. Looks perfect. I am going to get a ppi. The top is original and has small tears on both sides in the same place over the convertible top frame. Has anyone had this issue or seen this? If I buy it, can it be stitched or do I have to choose betwen having small tears or replacing top?

Also, I have seen the maintenance records and taken copies of a few. The car was brought in with 22K miles because the clutch was slipping during acceleration. It appears it was replaced. I am going to call the dealership where repairs where performed tomorrow, but wondering if anyone has any opinions on a clutch needing to be replaced with such low miles. Car driven too hard?

Other than these two questions and pending the ppi, car looks and drives like a low mileage garaged 993.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Sounds like the top will probably need to be replaced.

Clutches can fail at any mileage depending on how the former owner drove it.

Anyone have an idea on cost to replace top (would seem to just be the material itself)?
