Default 996 TT price dropping...

Hello forum. I'm in the market for a 01-03 996 TT. Will most likely do something next fall/winter.

It appears the introduction of the 08 997 TT is driving prices down on it's older brother. Are others seeing this?

Right now "my car" (if you will) is running 58-65K..... for a <40K Mile specimen.

I took a test ride with a salesperson in Houston in an 01 996 TT last month and it was amazing..... of course 125mph down a busy feeder road can make a serious impression. (after changing my shorts).... I relayed the experience to my wife..... and now we're on the hunt for our P-car.

I'll be selling my 01 Z06 to change brands.

Do any of you guys do tuning/mods to your cars? Anyone adjust paramaters in the ECU?... Is it accessible...... or is the P-car more of a drop-it-off and let the experts tune it for you car?

How hard it is to get the magic 500HP number out of a 996 t?

You should read some of the Porsche magazines, 911, Excellence etc. they are full of ads for after market go fast parts for 996TTs... chipping, exhausts, intake modes, suspension upgradesYou can reliably pull a lot more horsepower out of the TT, just open the wallet!!

Go check out your local newstand.

What do you think of this? Just happened upon it now

The nice parts are the PCCB and X50 pkg. There is a difference between the "1st generation" and "2nd generation" ceramic brakes, and I would clarify what that is before buying. Also sports seats are much better than the standards.

The unfortunate thing is the lack of Sat-Nav, (but that's minor) and I was kind of expecting to see the "semi-double" exhaust tips that were std. on the turbo S (also minor and fixable). Miles are a bit high... but i like it... but may be worth considering or at least finding out moreeven if it is a bit above your 65k limit... it's 03, single driver, x50, ceramics.
