Default 997 4 & 4s

I am looking to purchase for the wife a 997 Cab 4 or 4s and I am a little confused on the first model year. Seems like 2005 was the first year but I also see some 996 cars in this model year. Did Porsche offer the 997 4 or 4s with a Cab in 2005 or was 2006 the first year?

2005 was the first year of the 997 C2,4,4S. The turbo still was the 996 platform in 2005.

thanks for the reply, it looks as though in 2005 there were 996 & 997 4 & 4s' available...did Porsche make a mid year change for the Cabriolets from the 996 to the 997?

It may have been a split year since the 997 C4 did not ship until November of 05.
