repair shop says ac needs a new eveporator $1500 plus $1500 labor. Question is can I replace just the evaporator ($164) or do I need the entire evaporator and housing ?

 

So far I only show the evaporator available as the entire housing unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. I found just the evap. coil without housing from Drivewire for $162. My mechanic hopes he can disassemble the housing and replace the coil only. Whats you opinion? Drivewire insists that the part will fit my 06' carrera.

I also bought a Evap. coil without housing for my Porsche 997 C2S. I just cant find any videos related to changing the Evaporator coil. Can you guide me how to change it on my car. Thank you.
