I have 2001 996 (911) Turbo. The front power steering high pressure hose is leaking at the rubber hose. The factory part is only available in Germany, several weeks away and about $700 bucks. We've got Hose Pros in our area who can re-fab the rubber to metal part, yet the local independant repair shop thinks the metal part that fits into the rack/pinion box and into the connector, won't work again after taking it off. The dealer says there is o-rings available for the front of the hose and new connectors for the back, anyone ever find out if this works to refab vs waiitng several weeks for a new one?
