Go to your local auto parts store and have them look in the book to find one that fits, they should have a direct replacement. We get them from orielly's here in kansas.

Help, I need a battery for my 2000 911 C2. Does anyone know of an alternative to factory replacement that fits the same. I don't want to have it move around if it is not stock fit.

I work for Lucas / Yuasa automotive batteries here in England and the battery that will fit your Porsche is either a 010/4 or two 063/4. So has your 911 got 1 or 2 batteries? These numbers should be the same whatever brand you fit, though they may not have the /4 at the end of the number. Either way I would go for the top spec battery you can find..... They are cheaper for a reason..... you get what you pay for when it comes to batteries, except when you buy O.E. (original equipment) of course, most O.E. batteries are made on the same production lines as the replacement product and are usually just labeled differently, then sold for more money! (You pay more for the name.)
I'm pretty certain that Bosch make the O.E. battery for Porsche, so buying a Bosch 010/4 or two 063/4 batteries is most probably the same except for the cosmetics.
If we all knew what manufactures supplied the O.E. products to Porsche we could all save a fortune and get the same quality! (Though not all replacement O.E. parts are made by the same companies who supply the actual O.E. parts to the manufacture!!)
....I'll get my coat.

Only one battery in the 996. I dont know about canada, but here in the states, there are only about 3 battery manufacturers that just stick different labels on the different brands....ie a sears brand battery may be from the same manufacturer as a walmart battery. I always just buy the cheap walmart batteries, the last 40 dollar battery went 7 years in my truck which was kept outside in 20-30 below weather (F) during the winters, so it was well used. Usually the batteries we buy to replace the porsche batteries are interstate.

Dude, do yourself a huge favor and get a Optima Gell Cell for your car. You will never have to worry about acid leakage damage to your car.
