Default Cab Top Does Not Work

I have a 2001 996 cab. When I push the rocker switch to put down the top, I hear two clicks near the engine compartment, the warning light flashes three times, the windows do not go down and the top does not move. Anyone have any ideas how to diagnose the problem? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Well I have now concluded that the problem is with the hand brake. The light does not come on when I engage the brake. If I giggle it just right, the light will come on and the top will work. I guess I need t replace the hand break switch. Any DIY advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
