Default Classic Porsche 911

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, and I come to you for help on finding the Porsche 911 of my dreams. I've always been fascinated with the Porsche 911, and always wanted to buy one of the classic models.

The main question I have is: What year should I be looking at? Which year and Porsche 911 model should I buy? I've seen many different years form the 60's to the 70's to the 80's, but I'm not sure which one is the best.

Any help would be great!

The older ( i.e. late 60's) look great, but they are pre galvanised body pannels and any will be riddled with rust. So buying veery early may mean alot of money of restoration. POst 74 had galvanised panels. The late 80's are pretty bullet proof and more powerful and probably more tunable.

Are you good with a wrench?
If not, more modern the better I say.

Air cooled/water cooled issue too.

its true, the older cars are more technical in terms of the maintenance, but IMHO worth it.

In 75 they started the process of using galvanized metal, but they still had issues in the door jams and rockers and areas of the front pan. This seem to continue to 78 from my experience. No expert but have owned 14 Pcars from 89 down.

lots of reasons to go for a later 911, but if you like that early look be prepared for some big bills.
