Default Cruise Control

I have a 1986 Carrera, and my crusie control seems to dis-engage while driving -- only when i have a passeger with me. it seems that the passeger's feet are hitting a loose wire or something under the passenger side dash. My passenger can often disconnect and re-connect my cruise with their feet under the dash! Can anyone tell me if the cruise control module is under the dash? I'd like to get an idea of what it looks like before I start looking around in that area. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks! Tyler.
