Default As a daily driver?

911 drivers,

Anyone drive theirs as a daily driver? I live in the mid-atlantic and it seems pretty reasonable. We may get some bad winters but it does not seem to last much more than a couple of weeks( been out here for 11 years). I drove a 2000 Z28 for 4 years for cryin' out loud! No comments on THAT please! Please enlighten me to your experiences. Thanks

Have an '07 997 C4S and my wife drives it as a daily driver. No problems at all. It's fairly good on the gas, rides well and not a single problem over the last 1.5 years. Also a very good ride and handling is great!
Go out, buy one and enjoy!

4 snows on my c4S cab and it handles great year round. Only thing is, my other car is an S Class Benz, so I appreciate the sports car all that much more by not driving every day..

I have an 88 911 which i drive daily. I live in Central California so i dont get any snow but heat and rain havent stopped me yet. I wish it were a little better on gas but i love the car so much nothing is going to stop me from driving it.

Ditto for me. I live in the CA Bay Area, and drive my 997S Cab 1/2 the time. The other 1/2 I drive a Prius (thus my PAFE - Personal Average Fuel Economy) is higher than driving the Porsche alone. It's a perfect daily driver. The only car that can claim the title of 'the supercar you can driver every day'. But the gas mileage is a bit wanting and servicing costs (though infrequent) are high. Around town (no highway), it's about 17-19mpg. Steady highway (with cruise control), it's 22-23mpg. Of course, it's such a compellingly visceral drive - power, handling, feel - that keeping off the power pedal is really tough. Even in the daily drive there are a few points along the way in which I have to open her up. Then the mileage thing is a distant point in history.
But the car is tough as nails - solid and dependable. Forty years of teutonic engineering really pays off. I wouldn't hesitate to make it a daily driver.

For what it is worth, I just got an 01' C4 cabrio with the full intent of driving every day except when the weather is bad. I kept my SUV for that duty. The car is too much fun to keep in a garage.

I own a 2000 996 with 65k miles that is a daily driver. I live about 40 miles west of Washington DC and commute into the city every day (when I don't ride the motorcycle). This is my 3rd Porsche and I buy them to drive them, not sit them in a garage and have them look good for weekend jaunts. Drive it and enjoy it. I would not have it any other way.
