Default emissions testing

I am having trouble with the new NY State emissions testing. I have a 1997 911 Cabriolet. I removed the batter this winter. When I connected the battery and brought it to be inspected the new machine at the dealer says the computer is not registering yet. They said to drive 30 miles. Still not registerning yet. They keep saying driver more miles (first 30, then 100, then 200, then 300). Apparently they are having this issue with several cars. This is related to a new NY test that started in May.
Has anyone run into this and have an answer as to how to get the computer to register so that the emission test can be completed?
Thanks

Default RE: emissions testing

I used to administer PA state emissions testing, and i believe that is a similar system. i had the same problem with a 3000GT, and it had to do with a bad computer in the car. have you tried a different emission station?
