Default first post... need help with 1st Porsche

I got the green light to buy a Porsche (those of you that are married will understand what that means) I really like the 911, and still like the 87' 88' Turbo 911 models. My question is, are their any things I should know, look for ? This is the first time I ever saw this board, so please forgive me for repetitive Q? thanks

On Behalf of all real Porsche owners, I welcome you and hope that you find a 911
that may fill your needs. Based on my experience, I would lean to the early 930
76 to77. It is a very basic 911 with bulging fenders and a high performance engine
which is bullet proof. It may be difficult to find an unmulested old 930. However, it is
a very satisfying car to drive. You can get some background info. in "Sports Car International"
reprint Septembner 2002. By the way, I had a number of Porsches, the old 77 930 is a
mans car to drive. Good luck finding your Porsche.

Definetly get it checked out, if you happen to find one, by a local shop. Most will do pressure checks, look for oil leaks, and more hot spots. That is about the best way to get it checked out, just call up local Porsche specialists and ask if they do a purchase inspection, which I'm sure most of them do. If you can't find one to do it, send it to Eurasian Auto Service in Birmingham, they'll take care of you.
