Default this forum seems dead for whatever reasons

Recently got an 86 cab and have a lot of probably old, dumb questions to ask because these cars are new to me but sure does not appear this forum would be the place judging from poor response to questions I see posted. Anyone interested in sharing info on their mid-eighties NA cars is welcome to e-mail me anytime. Maybe we can form a common interest group of our own for simpler issues that the experts don't want to bother with..
Today I was looking at a 3/8" kind of jagged edged hole in the black plastic tube shaped housing on top left side of engine that I think is A/C related and was wondering why it is there and what may have been attached there at one time.. , what is the little 1/2" plug looking thing I see on the the top right side of my dashboard.... and on, and on..
