Front License
I purchased a 2007 911 last week to replace an 06 Miata and again had that "front license plate bracket"
choice of risking running without a plate (NY) or to drill the bumper. I had drilled the bumper on the Miata but the Porsche just doesn't deserve that.
I found a very good solution:

These folks make a custom bracket for Corvettes but it worked perfectly on my 911, the only change being is you reverse it (upside down) and attached it to the lower part of the grill instead of the upper as on a Corvette. It is well made, attaches with industrial adhesive tape and much better looking than the standard drilled (ouch) bumper mount.
Not cheap...over $100. with shipping, but I got over sticker shock when I bought the 911. It is also cheaper than a ticket for not having a plate.
