Is This a Good Deal?
Have a chance to buy a 911 Carrera 4S 1997 German version imported to US, excellent condition, around 50,000 miles,
for 47,000 dollars. Original odometer was changed when imported to US, but otherwise stock interior. It's the 993 model w/ air cooled. Hard to compare to US version since the European version is with extra horses. It's a great car and would like to get it, but wondering if it's a good deal for the price. Any suggestions?

If it is legal here, it may have been modified for emissions and if so it may have lost those extra horses (or more). You also need to check - if you live in CA or elsewhere, make sure it has the required "sticker" declaring it has been made compliant: if not you will go through hell getting it certified even if it is completely clean.
$50K seems high, regardless, but it all depends on condition, rarity, etc.

Go to http://www.edmunds.com / used cars and punch in all the porsche info to get true value pricing. It will give you some good starting prices. Good luck.
