Can anyone tell me, how often should I change the oil for my 86 911 RUF Coupe? I was thinking about every 1500 miles? Also, what type of oil should I use? I am told that new Mobil 1 Synthetic is pretty good. I am also told to stay away from Pennzoil because it contains wax and it is not good for the engine?

Thanks,

Alex, check yer email , I'd post the tests here, but the file is too large.

I'd recommend the best protection, AMSOIL. As far as change intervals. AMSOIL offers a 25k or 1 year oil Guaranteed in writing. WIth a filter change at 12.5k or 6months. I use it on my Hemi and I also have the bypass kit. Which filters particles smaller than a micron. Keeping the oil spotless. Here's a small diagram of how the bypass works. First the single bypass

If you want to keep your car running then dont wait 25k miles to changed your oil, the best thing to do is to run a mobil 15w50 synthetic and mobil 1 filter and change them every 2500 to 4000 miles.

I have a 911 C2 and am wondering if I should also install this bypass kit . Where can I get it done? Also where can I find the AMSOIL? I have seen it at motorcycle stores for bikes.

Thanks
terry

Do not install any bypass kits, do you think if your car needed it that porsche wouldc have put it on to begin with, dont waste your money, just follow the recommended service intervals and use the oil that came in your car MOBIL 1, not amsoil, dont listen to syntheticsman hes just trying to sell you his oil, and if you let your car go 25k without an oil change your an idiot, even synthetic oils wear down at around 10k.
