Default Need expert advice on 996 I just bought as a "project"

I'm brand new to this forum but not new to owning cars. I've owned many exotics over the years, 3 Lambo's, a couple of Ferrari's, Pantera's, Lotus Esprits', ... and a few Porsches (944, 996 C4, 996 Turbo). You can see photos at www.garysexotics.com

I just bought (knowingly) a fixer upper 01 996 C2 with a problem going into 2nd gear which I am assuming is a typical synchro problem. Most of the time I buy pristine cars and turn them before they need any major type of repair but in this case I bought this car as a "project". It has 66k miles and has the following problems. Can you experts point me to where I should go for parts/labor in the SoCal area and about how much I should expect to pay to fix these issues?

1. 2nd gear synchro grind which makes it very difficult to get into second but all other gears are fine.

2. Clutch is very weak and plan to replace it while I have the tranny down. Any recommendations for type of clutch? It is just a daily driver and project, not a track car.

3. Cracked right rear taillight, can anyone point me to a lens replacement (even used) so I don't have to spend $400-500 for the whole assembly?

4. Rear engine hatch doesn't release, can't hear the actuator sound, no sound. Suggestions on what it is and how to open the rear hatch? Don't know if it is electrical or ?

It has a clear title even though it has been in an accident and has been repainted. Tell me if you think I got a good deal at $14k given the issues the car has. The engine runs strong and it is decently optioned.

Thanks in advance for any advice. If you have any questions about the other cars I've owned, just ask. I'm mostly a driver, not a collector and not a mechanic but know about mods and model year issues to look for.
