Noww..

As far as questions:
1. Is there a short throw shift kit somewhere that I can get? I hate how long the throws are.
2. Anything I need to look out for? any advice?
3. I want to get a coup wing/spoiler on the back, is it possible? where can I get one?
4. I want to lower the car a bit... how would I go about this?
5. One more thing... I want to refresh the lights behind the gauges maybe with led's? Any advice on that? what bulb sizes? etc.
6. The AC doesn't work... how do I go about that?

Thank you!
Paul

Congrats on your new 1987 Carrera! I have one of the last 1989 Carrera's made, and almost any mechanic will tell you the 1984-1989 Carrera's were the pinnacle of the 911's. When the newer model 1989's came out, many of them leaked badly and had dual flywheel problems. So you've got the right model. It's also better looking! As far as your rear wing, etc., you can get allof this stuff (either genuine Porsche or aftermarket supplier)from Pelican Parts (www.pelicanparts.com) or from Automotion (www.automotion.com). You can save a few bucks by buying used Porsche Parts atwww. partsheaven.com. I've bought from all and have been very pleased. MY 1989 was lowered to euro-specs and the difference in handling is dramatic. Looks better too. Have to be careful, however, as the chin spoiler is really low. I also switched to synthetic oil(Mobil 1, 0-W40)and it cranks easier when cold.Of course, this is more expensive than using standard mineral oil since the carstake 13 quarts, however youroil is the life blood of your engine so I think it's worth it. A performance chip upgrade (I like the Steve Wong chips, about $350) will perk up your low and mid-range performance as well. And, 1.) always remember to let your car warm up to operating temperature before putting it through it's paces and 2.)check your oil with the engine running at proper operating temperature.Good luck and happy driving!
