New guy here! Ignition trouble?
hello everyone. glad to join this site. my first question...i have a 1975 911S w/ a 2.7L and the ignition switch is locked up. i bent mykey trying to turn it. i priced a new switch and it is almost $500. is there any other cheap switches that i can use to replace the old. can the old switch be rebuilt to work? or anything else i can do to fix the problem? thanks

RE: New guy here! Ignition trouble?
I would remove the electrical portion of the switch (on the backside, usually held to the key switch section by 2 screws) and see if the key will turn in the lock, or if the tumblers are indeed messed up. The electrical portion can bind up and keep the assembly from turning. That part of the switch is only like 60 bucks.
