Default Newbie thinking about a 1980-1989 Porsche 911

I need your advice, I'm thinking of buying an older model Porsche 911 (1980-1989) between 70k-80k miles. What are the list of maintenance (mechanical items, engine, transmission, etc.) should it be done for a car this old. What are things to look for when inspect (rust, body damage,....). Thanks for any comments

Go to amazon.com and purchase "The Used 911 Story" by Peter Zimmermann. I just got my copy and it's a great resource for just these types of questions.
