Default Oil burning question

I have an 05 911 S and have about 4000 miles on it. I have noticed that the oil level is low. At 2000 miles i added about a half a quart and and 4000 miles i added another half a quart.
I broke the car in properly and do not abuse it. Is this normal? Does anybody else have this problem or should i take it in to be serviced? I have heared that high performance engines will burn oil.
thanks

My '03 Carrera 4 with 14,000 miles requires some topping off as well. I'm off the the dealer this weekend to check it out.

I suspect that is quite normal. The Manual with the car notes that oil is expected to be used, especially near 'run-in'. My Carerra used 1/2 litre in 1st 1500 miles, and will check again now i have done 2000km.

Those who said 'run to the dealer' do not appear to be experienced in the ways of Porsche engines.

Good Luck, and report back to us! KiwiCanuck

I have a 2002 Carerra and my car consumes a quart of oil every two weeks...I must say it's my daily driver and I ride it hard. The technician at the dealer said it was normal.

Regards,
Manuel
