Default Passenger side footwell question

While looking at images of 2008 911s on eBay I noticed that there appear to be differences in the passenger side footwell on some cars. On some cars the carpet on the left side of the passenger footwell covers the front part of the rear center console and there is a big ventilation duct. On other cars the front of the rear center console goes over the carpet and the duct is not visible. Also, in the cars with the carpet covering the console it appears that the passenger fotsell is narrower. Any idea why the cars are not all the same? I expect to take delivery on my 2008 911S in about 2 weeks and I am hoping that mine is one of the ones where the carpet doesn't come up over the console. Attached is a picture (hopefully).

I believe what you are seeing is a factory subwoofer like what I have in my 996. Just a guess, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

Congrats on your new car!
