Default PST2 - looking for information

Hi,

I am wondering how difficult it is to get the Porsche PST2 software to run on an original Bosch KTS500 unit. What if any hardware differences are there? Does the Porsche software check the version of the PCMCIA card (upon install or always)?

I have seen some offers on Ebay where a KTS500 with PST2 sofware is for sale for around 1600 Euro. Then you see several offers for laptops with KTS500 PCMCIA card and PST2 software for similar price tags. Are they worth considering.

There was some chatter on another boad about the KTS500 card not being hardware compatible and damaging control units. Is that true. Itis myunderstanding that Porscheuses an OBD-II interface specification butalso uses a second K-line in to talk to some of the control units on 993 and later cars equipped with OBD-II.

Can someone shed some light into these topics. Thanks,
Ingo
