Questions re: used 1999-2001 Porsche 911
How well do 1999-2001 Porsche 911's(automatic transmission if that makes a difference) generally hold up in the long run? Is 30,000 miles a significant amount for a used model? Will a 5-6 year old 911 run reliably as a daily driver for many years, or is it more likely to be in the shop all the time(it would be driven in a reasonable manner, never raced or driven excessively hard)?
I'm trying to decide if purchasing a used 911 with approximately 30,000 miles for around $37,000 is a sound decision, so I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts on the subject. Thanks!

Porsches are very reliable car and 30K miles is not much on them. They can easily see over 100K.
I recently purchased a 1996 911 (993 body) Carrera 4 Cabriolet with 25K miles on it and know of many cars of that age with 70-100+K.

I purchased my 3rd Porsche, a 2000 996 and it had 40k miles on it when I purchased in 12/06. It now has 65k miles on it and is used as a daily driver. With all 3 of my Porsche's I have had no major mechanical issues. There are the annoying ones from time to time (just had to replace passenger door lock for $700) that can get expensive. Other than that I LOVE my car. With regular and routine maintenance I hope it will last another 100k miles.
