Default Trying to get my dream

Let me start out by saying that I inadvertently angered people on another Porsche site. Let me please give you some info on me and the 996 Porsche I would like to purchase. About me,I am a 64 year old disabled man with a fixed income. The 996 I would like to purchase is a 2001 Carrera with 33,000 one owner miles. One year ago at 3,000 miles the car suffered an engine failure due to the IMSB. The engine was rebuilt by Boston Sports Car, at which time the RMS was also repaired but the clutch was not replaced. The cost of the rebuild was $12,000. I have read on the internet that the 2001 996 is prone to engine failure due to some weakness in some part that can crack. I was told that if a car like this has a fatal engine failure, engine replacement can be $19,000. I will be getting a PPI from EPE in Ma. I am not trying to bash the 996 Porsche in any way. Some times I thing that someone with my limited funds (can afford $2,000 a year in maintenance) should not be purchasing a car such as a Porsche. I would greatly appreciate any advise.

Thank you
