Default White Smoke and Burning Oil

I have a 2002 C4, white smoke, out of drivers exhaust only, if it sits for a few hours. Lasts for about 20 seconds. Burns oil close to 1 qt every 500 miles. 30 K miles still under porsche warranty. Oil Sep has been replaced. Did not help so they replaced the spark plugs? Still did not work. I had a fit and they have it in the shop again. 4th time. Any suggestions?

Ouch, sounds like you might have some valve or headgasket issues on the drivers side. My guess is the motor needs to come out for a rebuild if the OAS did not solve the issue.

Have they done a leakdown and compression test on the motor?

They said they did a compression test and that things look fine. I do not know what a leak down is. If I was more informed I would have applied pressure earlier. Why would they have changed the plugs? They said they were fouled and that should have solved my problem.

i'm less concerned about the oil smoke on start up as some of that can be normal, but the excessive oil consumption is a problem. IIRC the spec is 1 quart every 600 miles or so before needing a rebuild. If it is using more than that, and still under warranty, pressure them for a new motor......it shouldn't be burning hardly any oil. Curious what dealer you are dealing with?

Dealer in Albuquerque NM. They are very nice, give me a loaner each time but this is getting old. I feel like they are unable to diagnose the root problem. The service manager called me today and said he is taking personal responsibility for this matter so hopefully something happens. The amount of smoke causes people in my parking garage to complain, and some friends that work on race cars say that the amount of smoke is not usual at all.
