Trade a 996 for a 912?
Good afternoon!
I've been lurking in this air cooled basement for a couple of weeks and I have a problem. So, what does any tech savvy millennial do? Pose a question to the internet masses for critical and large life decisions.
Couple of years ago I decided I wanted a Porsche before I had kids and bought a house and couldn't afford one, so I picked up a barely used 996 coupé. It is my only car and thus gets me to and from work, runs errands with the wife on Saturdays, occasionally carts the dog, and takes us to dinner. Bottom line, It has been awesome.
Lately though I've become enthralled with the originals. Unfortunately with 911 prices going astronomically high they are well out of range for my uncle Sam marine corps salary. This brings me to your humble abode of 912s. I think I want a 912 with a hopped up engine. There are perfect numbers matching all original cars out there, and they are lovely but they are not for me! I want a quick little zippy classic sports car, with a wooden steering wheel! I am handy, don't mind polishing, cleaning, little bit of mechanic work, suspension upgrades etc.
My question for you all is, can you live with a 912 as a daily driver? I think I can but want to hear from you guys. (Anyone interested in trading for my 996!?) Launch X431 V+
Thanks!
