I'm looking into building up a friend of mine's 1974 Porsche 914 with a 1.8L. Anyone have any tips on beefing up these engines. Have build dozens of v-8's and performance 4 & 6 cylinders, but this is something new. Maybe turbocharging or running dual carbs. Any suggestions???

 

There is no harm in the installation of 1.8 L with Porsche 914 .It will become a powered car by its original 1.8 L fuel injected “Type 4″ engine which might increase its performance and consistency.
