Hi Mikey, I agree with you. I love the 914 too, it's a shame it's so underated. I wish I'd bought one when I was younger and didn't need any rear seats!

That is fantastic!! A lot of people insist that the 914 is not a Porshce. I mean yes, it was developed by vw and used many of there parts, but it was still Porsche inspired and sold under that name. It's funny to think that vw and Porshce were close relatives. Its a Porsche at Heart

The 914 is a real Porsche, it was designed & developed by Porsche in a joint partnership with V.W. Sold under the Porsche brand in the U.S. & as V.W.-Porsche in europe. The bodies were made by Karmann & the V.W. parts bin was raided.

Hey Mikey,
I am Skarr and I am new on the forum, I wish more people would show picture on here and share ideas, or just tell a good old 914 story, but I guess as people get to know one an other things will be a little different. I am the proud father of this little, beautiful baby girl.

Recently came across a porshe 914 and i am leaning towards buyin it an restoring... could you guys help me with some information?

How hard it is to come across parts for this car? Any websites where I could find parts specifically for this vehicle?
Whats the value of this vehicle once restored? I found one which runs but needs a lot of work... i sort of want to treat it as an investment besides a sunday driver type of car.

Thanks in advancefor all the help guys... later

Just got my first 914. Undergoing a Major restoration. Very handy that they raided the VW parts bins it makes them a bit more cheaper to restore.

Its the repair panels that costs the bigger money
