So, I've just started researching the options for dropping an engine (small-block V8 or somethin' from a Subie) into my '73 914. I know once the engine's in I'll have to make some adjustments to the suspension, the tranny, etc. With all that considered, my main question is if anyone knows from personal experience or knows of anyone who did a project like this...what was the final cost? It doesn't have to be exact or anything, but a ballpark figure would be great...I'd just like to know what to expect when I do, in fact, choose to upgrade. Thank you for your time.
