Default New 928S owner, looking for answers!

I am going to be picking up a 1982 Porsche 928S (Euro-spec) this week, hopefully. I do have a few questions however.

First off, does anyone know the true 0-60mph and 1/4mi times for my year/spec 928S? It's the 300hp version, so I'd hope it's pretty fast. Another thing I was wondering was about the body. Would it be possible (hopefully easy) to put a later year 928S4's body on my car, or at least some parts (front and rear) to make it look more modern (although it's plenty cool as is)? Last thing is, does anyone know any good performance modifications I can make to make the cars' straight line abilities stronger? I don't plan on drag racing or autocrossing, but it would be fun to have a street beast.

Thanks!

The stats for a european 1982 928S is...

Weight= 1530kg, Engine Size= 4664cc, Bhp= 300, Torque= 284lb ft, 0-62mph= 6.8sec & Top Speed= 146mph

As for making an 928S look like an 928S4...it can be done, but may be very expensive as I would think you would have to use genuine Porsche panels. I met a bloke last year who had brought an older 928 that already had this conversion and except for the number plate giving the year away, you would have had to open the hood to tell.

You could try and gather the parts for this conversion from eBay or from a Porsche breaker!

Anyway, welcome to the forum & remember 928s like to be used, park one up for to long and then the problems start!

I keep some of the very old road test summaries from Road and Track and Motor Trend around and I found one that listed 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and quarter mile in 14.5 at 97 mph.

As to improved performance, the first thing I'd look to is any way I could remove weight: its a heavy car at around 3400 lbs.

the simplest way to add power would be a superrcharger kit. One is at:

It costs $4700, I'd estimate it would cost $2000 labor to have someone good put it on, and it is claimed to boost RWHP by about 30%. There may be others.
