Default 85 porsche 944

Looking at a Porsche 944 (1985) 2.5 NA. Took it for a test drive and found some vibration when letting the clutch out that felt like clutch chatter. I was told this vehicle had a new clutch recently. Also told by owner that that was normal for Porsche. Also had a slight grind into second gear which the owner said was a minor trans problem that commonly happen and could be easily fixed if pulling transmission. Car seem to smooth out after getting up to speed 50 mph. Is this normal as the owner said or is this going to be a problem?

If the clutch was replaced within the last 500 miles, then the shudder is probably normal as the clutch is still breaking in. If it has been a couple thousand miles, i would be leary, as they should not shudder like that...that is not normal. Grind into 2nd gear is fairly common, and people usually swap redline synthetic gear oil into the box and that seems to help. It is the 2nd gear syncro going out, and would entail a tranny rebuild to fix the problem.
