Default 86 Autolock / Rear locking issue

Narrative:

Just picked my 86 up from the body shop on Friday for rockers and o/all paint. They stripped the inside door panels off during the bodywork process, and put everything back. My autolock switch however was pushed down out of its socket. I unscrewed the console around the shifter and reseated this switch. Once I did I tested the switch twice. It worked fine the first time, but on the second the locks stopped working. I can hear the relays in the doors activating but the locks don't unlock.

For the driver/passenger door the locks can be unlocked with the key. For the tail however the key seats but the cylinder won't turn.

I crawled into the spacious cargo area and pulled the carpet back and it looks like a long push arm is possibly blocking the mechanism. Also this appears to have a nylon fitting on the end to connect to a central doo-hicky, and this connection has separated.

Problem: Using Earth's physical laws and human kineseology diagram a solution to opening the latch from the inside. Include a recommended fix for this locked door problem. Show your work.

Seriously, any help/advice would be appreciated.
