Default 944 Door Handle please help!!!

Hi, My drivers side door wont open, pull the trigger part and nothing happens, theres no spring like action.

After crawling in the passengers side I cant even open the door from the inside so also finding it impossible to get the door card off!

Does anybody know what part I might need to fix this problem I dont want to buy a new door handle if theres only a spring or something that has come off.
Car is an 87 944 turbo with central locking, I think a new door handle might be hard to get hold off as its got the engraved Porsche script in handle, please help

The part that usually breaks on 944 door handles is the "drop link." This part is available separately, but can be a bit of a pain to fit.

I'm not quite sure if this is what's wrong with yours though, as you should be able to open the door from the inside still.

Many thanks for that info, today the door works from inside and out! I can’t believe it!?
Once I’ve opened the door from the outside the trigger handle doesn’t push back to original position it stays pushed against the actual handle.
Does anybody know if there is just a simple spring that can be replaced to fix this?
At least I can get the door card off easy now and I think if Im going to take the thing apart I might as well grease everything up and change the drop link bar while Im in there!
Looking around it seems like the mk1 and mk2 VW Golf handles are the same, so if I get stuck on a weekend with limited parts that might be an option! once again thx!

Take it all apart, and grease the entire mechanism with lithium grease until it functions properly.

The first winter I had my N/A I had a similar problem, only my door wouldn't shut! I Red Greened it closed over night and the next day began tearing the entire driver's door appart... turned out all it needed was a good lube. Haven't had a problem since but every year from then on, right before the 1st freeze of winter, I grease her up quite nice.
