Default 944 Prices????

I am new to the 944, and have to admit I don't have any background in the car. So I am very intrigued by the fact that I have managed to find several 944's which are for sale as "drivers" in "good" condition", yet have prices well below $1000. Two I have found are below $600. I haven't looked at these yet, but a Porsche for those prices makes me really wonder. Is there something I am missing here about this model? Is there some reason why the 944's are available at such cheap prices? Like maybe horrible repair costs?

I would really appreciate some input on this, as either I have found a couple of really good deals, or I am flirting with potential money pits.

Thanks

You will dump 5-6k into a cheap car like that just to keep it on the road. Walk away. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche.
