Default 944 reassembly

HELP! we erred. put a 1984 engine in a 1985 1/2 944. can't get wiring & vacuum right. Need help in Reno/Sparks NV area. respond to talisker25@msn.com pls

Main thing you need to do is make sure you get the right DME and AFM together on the car. It shouldn't matter whether you use the '84 or the '85.5 units, as long as they match.

As for wiring, go with the 85.5 engine harness from the original, as the mounting hole in the firewall for the harness to pass though is located in a different spot for the early cars. Wiring at the engine and for the vacuum lines shouldn't be very different at all, so use the '85.5 stuff and you should be fine.

You can get a vacuum line diagram from www.clarks-garage.com in his shop manual under "fuel and vacuum line routing" Very easy to do.
