can I use it to clean a section of fender without damage to paint? Can I substitute nail polish remover if ithe main ingedient is acetone? thanks

Acetone is a major component in most paint strippers, I wouldn't use it to 'clean up' a painted fender.

Don't use acetone, they have other products on the market (bug remover, etc) that may help.
