Brights keep turning on

Brights keep turning on
Hey I just picked up a 86 944 (non turbo), I love the car but when my lights are up the brights have an anoying habit of turning on all the time
It almost feels like the switch is worn, when I click them on and off it doesn't feel like the switch is engaging very well
Has anyone else had this problem? If I need to replace the actual switch, it looks like I need to pull the steering wheel off, is that a hard job on these cars?
