thanks for the advice... turns out the car has "only" 196k on it and the underbody and every thing looks great so i went ahead and bought it. once again thanks for the warm welcome to the forum.

 

Really?! That's truly awesome. Mine has the most miles of any local 944 I've seen (~200k the actual# is unknown.) I was astonished to find out that at 200k and 20+ years mine ran so well without any serious work, that was pre-mod of course. It just goes to show the quality that goes into the brand name.
